1. Who is responsible for your data

Modwheel Studio LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, operates modwheelacademy.com and is the controller of the personal data described here.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

• Your email address, when you contact us or create an account.
• Your name, if you provide it.
• The content of any message you send us.

Information from your purchase

Payments are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details directly — we never receive or store your full card number.

From Paddle we receive limited order information: your name, email address, country, the Course purchased, the amount, and the transaction reference. We need this to grant access and to keep accurate records.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site we may collect basic technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring page. This is standard server and analytics data.

Course usage

If you have an account, we record which Courses you have access to and, where relevant, your progress through them.

3. Why we use it

We use your data to:

• Give you access to Courses you've bought, and to restore access if you lose it.
• Send you transactional email — purchase confirmations, access links, password resets, and notices about Courses you own.
• Respond to your questions.
• Keep records for accounting and tax, including US federal filing obligations.
• Understand how the Site is used, so we can improve it.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised sharing of Course materials.

Where a legal basis is required (for example under UK or EU law), we rely on: performance of a contract, for delivering Courses you bought; legal obligation, for tax and accounting records; and legitimate interests, for security, fraud prevention and improving the Site.

4. Marketing email

We only send marketing email if you have opted in. Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect for all marketing.

Transactional email about a Course you own is not marketing, and you'll continue to receive it while you hold access.

5. Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business:

Cloudflare / OVH	Hosting the Site and delivering Course video

We may also disclose data where we are legally required to, or to establish or defend legal claims.

If the business is ever sold or restructured, your data may transfer to the new owner, who would remain bound by this policy or one materially equivalent.

6. International transfers

We operate from outside the United States, and our providers are located in various countries including the United States and the European Union. Your data may therefore be transferred and processed outside your country of residence.

Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep it

• Account and access records: for as long as you hold access to a Course, plus a reasonable period afterwards.
• Transaction records: for as long as tax and accounting law requires — generally at least seven years.
• Support correspondence: typically up to three years.
• Analytics data: typically up to 26 months.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy.
• Have inaccurate data corrected.
• Have your data deleted, where we have no overriding obligation to keep it.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Receive your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent.
• Opt out of marketing at any time.

If you are in California, you additionally have the right to know what we collect and to request deletion. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.

To exercise any of these, write to hello@modwheelacademy.com. We'll respond within the time the applicable law requires — usually 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first.

If you're in the UK or EU and you think we've handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

9. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

• Essential functions — keeping you logged in and securing the Site. These can't be switched off.
• Analytics — understanding how the Site is used, if enabled.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though essential cookies are needed for account features to work.

Paddle sets its own cookies during checkout. Those are governed by Paddle's privacy policy.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and restricted access to systems holding personal data. Payment card data never reaches our systems.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

11. Children

The Site is not intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we'll delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We'll change the "Last updated" date, and for material changes we'll give notice on the Site or by email where we have your address.
